What we Treat
Headaches
Commonly due to Upper Necks Disorders (UNDs) and directly related to postural position. Often associated with stressful sitting positions at a computer terminal.
Treatment - manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural correction, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.
Shoulder Problems
With such an extensive range of movement the shoulder is prone to instability problems but sport is not the most common cause.
The Shoulder girdle is commonly involved in postural conditions as well as direct or indirect trauma and referred pain.
Treatment - manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural correction, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.
Tennis/Golfers Elbow
These terms are used because of the close association between the sport and the injury. However, with correct preparation they can easily be avoided. Forearm problems are also often due to positional and overuse conditions in seated occupations.
Treatment - manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural correction, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.
Wrist and Hand Pain
There are both traumatic and chronic examples of problems involving these parts of the body. Many contact sports are responsible for sprains and strains which would be treated and managed as sports injuries. But there are also conditions in typing and computer bound occupations where the body and limb position is vitally important to avoid precipitation.
Treatment - manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural correction, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.
Lower Back Conditions
This is by far the most problematic area of the body for injury, mainly because of the prevalence of seated occupations. Sitting posture is the key to prevention and postural control at all times is the answer to successful management of any conditions. Problems are commonly complex and often require a carefully monitored rehabilitation programme for complete recovery.
Treatment - podiatry, manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural correction, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.
Thigh and Groin
Thigh - Closely associated with kicking injuries, direct trauma and sprinting. Can be exhibited in either the Quadriceps or Hamstrings.
Treatment - manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural correction, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.
Groin - Often traumatic and commonly in Football, but can be due to wear and tear if biomechanics are out of align. Pain can also be referred from the Lumbar spine and Pelvis.
Treatment - podiatry, manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural corr
Knee
This area has 2 distinct joints. The Patello-Femoral joint - very prone to biomechanical syndromes (e.g. Running conditions). The Genual joint - more commonly due to trauma where ligamentous and cartilaginous tears are prevalent (e.g. Twisting/turning sports - Football, Squash).
Treatment - podiatry, manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural correction, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.ection, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.
Shins
Most commonly related to biomechanical running conditions. Can be due to incorrect running shoes or inadequate control of the limbs due to muscle imbalances.
Treatment - podiatry, manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural correction, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.
Ankle
Sprained Ankle ligaments are probably the most common injury in traumatic sports injuries and very likely the most difficult to completely resolved unless early extensive rehabilitation is followed. Other Ankle problems can arise from biomechanical conditions.
Treatment - podiatry, manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural correction, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.
Foot
Foot problems are most commonly associated with biomechanical anomalies. Podiatry is a vital part of the treatment of all foot conditions.
Treatment - podiatry, manipulation, mobilisation, stabilisation, postural correction, muscle rebalancing, time management and ergonomic advice.
